An alternative to DW as a backup archive (how I planned to use it), courtesy of
children_of_lir over at
liamstliam 's journal.
www.ljbook.com (in case not everyone already knows) will convert journals into a .pdf with parameters you define. They do ask for the password, but I've heard that you can change the password before giving it to another site, then change it back afterwards, which would help.
When I tried a few minutes ago, I got a "too many concurrent users" message (Russian blogosphere traffic?). Will have to try again later.
I love the low-techness of the concept. Turn the blog (eventually) into a book which can withstand power outages and hacker attacks. If my graphics skills were better, I'd create a new userpic with a large book captioned "Hack THIS, #$c&er!!!"
