aka  "Thank you, God....also,  BLEAHHH!"

One of my patients' doctors, years ago, warned my patient that one sign of oxygen deprivation during sleep was (along with not feeling rested after sleep) unusual or unusually vivid / memorable dreaming.

Friday night I woke up from a dream about not being able to put on my leopard-print tube top (I've never worn one ever   8), even with my sister helping me,  because I couldn't breathe.       The not breathing part was a feature of the dream as well as the reality after I woke up.       Later when I told my sister about the dream, she stated,  "I would never help ANYBODY put on a leopard-print tube top..."     Jamie cuddled up warm and close every time I fell asleep, which I'm sure helped to keep the germs at bay.

Saturday I felt a bit better and made tom ka gai with garlic and spinach for the family, and my sister and b-i-l enjoyed it  (Mom's not into "savory"  ginger or coconut milk).        Borg-Mart has a new Super-cube in the town next door to where the family lives,  which benefitted me because their kale-by-the-pound has much of the inedible stem already cut off.    (I'm trying to replicate a blanched-kale dish I loved at an Asian buffet)

My trip home Sunday was long and rainy and congested in every sense of the word.     'Nuff said  8)

Monday was back in oxygen-poor territory (no dreams), due to chest congestion.     I wore a mask at work, washed my hands approximately every ninety seconds,  and was able to take breaks because a friend of my client's had visited to do a kind of "spa day" with hair and facial treatments.      Tuesday was better, with more oxygen.

This morning, I can sort of smell some things (it's the first time since I began using it on Saturday that I can smell the Vicks' Vapo-Rub).     I am resting, catching up on correspondence, finishing the tom ka gai in my fridge (by this point I'm tired of it even though I can't taste it), reading, and resting.

There is a dessert item in my kitchen awaiting the inevitable return of full olfactory (and gustatory) function    8)
