Upz N Downz (sorry...long)
Mar. 12th, 2006 07:36 pmFirst, officially testing proficiency with lj cuts, etc. In no particular order 8)
shalmestere,
woodwindy,
zaduzbina
On Friday, I got a paycheck which included some disposable income. I have disposed of most of that 8) There were some guided image CD's I'd had my eye on for a while, and my SCA membership is renewed in plenty of time (I hope) for Ye Olde Pollynge. Also included some things to taste which I'd been wanting to check out:
Recovering from a bad fall Friday pm outside Lincoln Center subway station. There's a patch of hexagonal cobblestones, part of which rises an inch higher than the rest, with no effort to smooth the grade--looking down the sidewalk (which I did), that "line" looks like a series of jigsaw puzzle pieces. I was grateful to the men who came to help me to my feet, but embarrassed at the involuntary loud words which got their attention (I don't think any of them had the name I actually shouted, but...).
Damages: One bruised/sore elbow, one bruised/sore knee, one bruised/sore ankle. So the line of jagged cobblestones is at least four feet long.
Saturday mostly hurt. I wrapped my knee and ankle and rested in the morning. In the afternoon I had to go for the Biennial Ritual Defenestration of my nursing brain cells. (CPR recertification.)
I was supposed to be at a rehearsal for "Sir Carnival vs. Lady Lent", which my friend has been working hard to put together for months, and the performance of which is a week away. I didn't get out of the class, an hour away by train, until the rehearsal was nearly over. The only possible good thing to come out of this (besides the CPR card, which I need as a condition of employment) is that my friend didn't see me limp into rehearsal, which might have made her worry.
Today I visited the Temple of Artzlcraftzl for site token supplies. Found also, supplies to repair some much-loved but much-busted jewelry. Tokens now mostly done (stamps on stiff felt--Martha Stewart I ain't). Formerly-busted pewter Vincent pin and formerly-busted silvertone sunflower pendant now wearable.
I am officially a happy camper 8)
