Late To Teh Comic Book Party
Jun. 5th, 2009 05:29 amLast month I started to read "Asterix" (I had to--somebody online mentioned Cacafonix and linked to the Wikipedia entry, which made me sporfle). The first two books have proven to be ... cute. I think the rest of the works are going to be 'rented' rather than purchased. The names are painfully funny, but the stories are less captivating for me 8)
Neil Gaiman's Sandman has been a lot more engaging, although much more visually disturbing. (Some artist apparently has lots of nightmares about mouths...) The anthology "Endless Nights" has less of that particular kind of disturbing artwork. I've gotten through three parts of the eleven-volume collection, thanks to the Peninsula Library.
I peeked at the ending of Alan Moore's "Watchmen" collection. I don't think I need to read that.
