There's a 9/11 memorial park off Beach Channel Drive by Jamaica Bay / Belle Harbor with a glass-roofed gazebo, apparently this man's work. It's lovely.
Among the items offered for sale are some short bottles, which immediately recommended themselves to me as SCA-useful, if only for temporary decanting at events (I don't know if any historical bottles looked like this, or if the corks are sturdy enough for storage). The "standard shape" bottles are $15. Some "distressed" bottles which have been artistically / asymmetrically shaped but still hold liquid, are $20. My new bottle holds 28 ounces of liquid. So far, I figure one to hold whatever beverage I'm drinking, and a second one for Pennsic to hold the dish soap, so we don't have to hide that bottle in camp.
There are cute signs on the shelves suggesting "fill with Scotch", so for the moment I'm presuming the glass is beverage-safe.
The glass comes out in three colors -- olive/yellow green, purplish-gray and bluish-green.
I gave up trying to upload the picture I took because my readers already know what a white square with a red X in the corner looks like 8P
