I Must Be Getting Old...

Made my first batch of genuinely-creamy faux-tatoes tonight, courtesy of the newly-arrived hand blender. According to the package directions, the blades can handle anything up to the consistency of baby food, but not "freshly boiled potatoes" (????). Avoided heating up the entire kitchen by grilling the skirt steak on the mini-Foreman grill, pre-cooking the cauliflower in the microwave.
Also put in some library requests for "arty" movies, returned some cookbooks and worked on the poem/adaptation of "Nut 'n' Mutton" (saving the most confusing, mistaken-identity part for last). Almost have "Lay de Bisclavret" memorized.
