My Best Friend's Wedding...
Jun. 5th, 2006 08:58 pm...has had to be postponed due to Life (Groom-to-be works mostly weekends, and being able to pay for said wedding is a Very Good Thing). (I just found out today, I'm assuming the postponement came earlier--friend and I were playing phone tag for a couple of weeks) This wedding is being planned as an informal, come-as-you-are affair, which builds in the necessary flexibility. New date TBA. Bride-to-be also has necessary flexibility re: wedding plans. More flexibility than I would have in such a situation.
Which is my roundabout way of saying that I will unexpectedly be in town this weekend to, among other things, go see my other friend's one-man-show premiere Saturday night.
Lots of music today. Ate lunch at "Stardust Diner" off Times Square, serenaded by singing servers. Some good stuff, some I don't need to hear twice, all very high-energy. Bought sheet music for "At Last", which I now have time to learn before aforementioned wedding. (Lovely song, wonder if it's reached "It's A Wonderful Life"--level cultural saturation yet.) A capella singers on subway train. Joined by additional (UI?) singers at the station where I got on--one group singer pointing to one new singer, singing, "Who is this man? I've never met him before!"
