The Subject of Religious Freedom Again

After reading for weeks about Huckabee and Fred Phelps and equal fanaticism on the other side by people whose names I don't even know, some sane oratory  is a real breath of fresh air.

Further down, one of the commenters posted this excerpt from a speech by Barak Obama.    (The whole thing is at http://www.barackobama.com/2006/06/28/call_to_renewal_keynote_address.php   )     I don't know a lot about Obama's record or his electability.     But whether he rises or falls after tomorrow, I think the issues and challenges he raises here are worth keeping in the public discourse:

I Guess I'm More Political Than I Thought 8/

EDIT NUMBER TWO:    I just learned that the proper name of this bill is H RES 888, as opposed to HR 888, which was a completely different House bill from earlier this year.     God forbid this should be simple   8P
